Virginia “Jean” Gregory (nee Chalk) passed away peacefully Monday, June 5, 2017 at Weslyan Village in Elyria.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Robert; dear mother of Michelle; cherished sister of Irene Chalk; special mom and grandma to the Bender family and devoted and caring friend of many.
A. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday June 12, 2017 at St. Patrick Church 3600 Bridge Ave. Cleveland, Ohio. Her family will receive friends from 9 am to 10 am and also at a reception to follow Mass in the church hall.
She will be laid to rest with her late husband in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Poor Clare Sisters 3501 Rocky River Dr. Cleveland, Ohio 44111.

Even when you haven’t seen someone in many years, you feel the loss when they pass away. Please know that we are thinking of you and of your Mom. I will always remember her as a spirited and gutsy, generous kind of person. I knew her when you were little, and I know how much she loved you.

She was also like a mom to me and grandma to my kids. I will miss her dearly and will especially miss her sense of humor and great food. No one could cater a prettier food display. She would stay up all night getting everything just right and would always offer to bring a dish or help out in any way she could. She had a tough life but glad to know she is at peace now. Proves life is short and we’re just passing through.
