I just came across this obituary and am unsure what date this was posted although I suspect it was a number of years ago. I was looking for an old friend named George Babej with whom I worked at a Potash Mine in 1963 in Saskatchewan Canada. He was a fine man and a great Engineer and I was younger and he was a great mentor and friend to me and I held him in great respect. But beyond that he was also a kind person of integrity and where I was initially born and raised in England he would have been called “a Gentleman”. His Engineering skills were unbelievable and after I left that company I understood George moved to the USA and worked for White Motors I believe. I haven’t seen George since then however he left an indelible mark on me and with the advent of the Internet I thought I would try and find him again. If this is indeed the George I knew then I am truly sad at his passing. However it was important for me to let his family know how George had had such a positive effect on my life.
