In loving memory of Evdokia Szczerban Popadyk. Born Feb.11,1927- May 1, 2015. Preceded in death by her mother Maria Szczerban, husband Stefan, brother Michal Szczerban of Poland. Survived by her loving caregiver daughter Eva Maria, daughters Krystyna (Robert) and Margaret, granddaughters Edyta (Douglas) and Sandra (deceased), great granddaughter Marzena Nadia and dear friend of Ferdynand and Rudo Rendesi for many years.
As a teenage girl during World War II Evdokia was picked up by Nazi soldiers with other Polish Ukranian girls and women from her village. They were sent to Germany to a Nazi Concentration Camp where undesirables were sorted. Then was sent to Dahau for slave labor. She worked at a bomb and ammunition factory for several years. Before the war ended she was sent to work in Buchenwald on a farm enduring hardship and starvation. The separation from her mother and brother was very hard on her. But was finally able to be reunited with her mother and little brother at another work farm. When Russia came and liberated the people the family decided to move to Kraków Poland where she married and had 3 daughters. For political reasons they did not go back to her birth place. Because of Russian Communism in 1964 she immigrated to the United States. Took on factory and domestic jobs and sacrificed everything to bring her mother and children to the U.S.A. Evdokia was a generous, kind, selfless, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and friend.
Mama thank you for the sacrifices to give us a better life. We will miss and love you always.

Burial will take place Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, 44142.

Eva and family I am very sorry for your loss may the lord comfort you during this time .Always remember the good times. I read her life story and it touched my heart but the lord blessed with her with along life after years of pain and suffering .And she was blessed with children and grandchildren . God Bless you all during this time and many days to follow
