Etelka Bauer, 90, of Tallmadge went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, September 6, 2009. She was born in Budapest, Hungary and came to the U.S. in 1957 with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vilmos. Etelka enjoyed athletics as a young teen, loved music, dancing and had the gift of hospitality. She loved to cook, bake and entertain. She was a seamstress and worked for many years at the Higbee Company making alterations to wedding gowns. Her last few years on earth were spent in the Heather Knoll Nursing Home in Tallmadge where she was loved and cared for by a very loving, professional care team. Etelka was a long time member of St. Emeric Church and enjoyed sewing and singing in the choir. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her son Steve (Claudette), grandchildren Bob (Rita) and Rich (Jennifer) McGill, Nicole (Gene) Thorn, Lisa (Waylon) Holbrook, Yvette Call and great-grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Jonathan, Ian, Alex, Haley, Olivia, Natalie, Baby Thorn, Zach, Alexis, and McKenzie. Funeral mass 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Emeric Church 1860 W. 22nd St. Cleveland. The family will receive friends FRIDAY 6-8PM at BODNAR-MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE 3929 LORAIN AVE. CLEVELAND.
